I painted this on location (en plein aire) at the Roseville, Ca. rail yard. As I sat there painting, several freight trains rumbled by with their goods heading for parts unknown to me. I love the power and size of these huge diesel electrics.
I'm an animation artist trained in the traditional hand drawn style of cartooning. I've been in the animation industry since 1966 when I got a job at the Disney Studios and was lucky enough to work on "The Jungle Book" and the first "Winney The Pooh And The Blustery Day". Since then I've worked on hundreds of TV cartoon shows for Hanna-Barbera, Filmation (He-Man, The Archies, Star Trek and others), MGM (Pink Panther), Universal Studios (Earthworm Jim) and The Cartoon Network (Cow And Chicken and I.M.Weasel) and many more.
